Oregon's sports betting app, powered by SBTech, has been delayed by lottery officials as they integrate the app with other lottery systems.

  • The Oregon sports betting app known as “Scoreboard” will be available to anyone over the age of 18 and inside the state’s borders.
  • Scoreboard will not offer betting lines for college sports. This includes betting odds for the Oregon Ducks.
  • Mobile sports betting in Oregon is expected to launch either at the end of September or by mid-October.

SALEM, Ore. – The launch of the much-anticipated Oregon sports betting app, Scoreboard, is being delayed according to Oregon Lottery officials. The mobile sports wagering platform is now estimated to hit the market in late-September to mid-October.

“The goal is not to give a date,” said Kerry Hemphill, sports betting program manager of the Oregon Lottery to commissioners on August 30. “The goal is to have a product that functions exactly how it’s supposed to.”

The Oregon Lottery partnered with sports betting technology provider SBTech in June in order to power the state’s mobile sportsbook platform. Both parties are still in the process of combining SBTech’s sports wagering application into the lottery’s pre-existing app.

“We have an app. We know that works,” said Matt Shelby, a spokesman for the Oregon Lottery to the Oregonian. “What we’re testing is the integration of the various systems that need to talk to one another. It’s going well but we’re still a few weeks from actually having an app available in the App store.”

While Scoreboard is expected to be the main method in which sports betting in Oregon is conducted, sportsbooks in the state have technically already launched. Chinook Winds Casino Resort began taking in the state’s first sports wagers on August 27. The tribal casino is also the only method in which Oregonians are able to bet on college sports.

Scoreboard will not feature betting lines for the Oregon Ducks or any other college sports program in the country. Even so, the app is expected to generate millions for the state. Anyone above the age of 18 will be able to legally bet on sports. from anywhere inside the state’s borders and in-person registration is not required.
