- IGT PlaySports is set to launch 42 new retail sportsbooks in Mexico and over 100+ total in Latin America in the next nine years.
LAS VEGAS – International Game Technology (IGT) signed a major technology and services agreement with Caliente, one of Latin America’s largest sportsbook operators.
The deal will launch PlaySports technology across 42 retail sportsbooks in Mexico initially, and later 100+ venues in 9 Latin American countries, including Uruguay, Paraguay, Panama, Ecuador, Brazil, Aruba, Argentina, and Antigua.
This expansion would offer immediate access to one of the largest sports betting populations in South America. Operators are to comply with local betting laws.
With Peru and Chile moving to legalize sports betting, this deal could serve as an additional liaison for company expansion.
“Partnering with IGT PlaySports on the rollout of our new retail sports betting offering is an exciting milestone for Corporación Caliente and one that will engage sports enthusiasts in nine countries,” said Caliente CEO Eduardo Hernández Triana.
The new partnership that IGT PlaySports announced will support Latin American gaming markets in establishing modern, reliable, and regulated sportsbooks.
Another reason that the partnership is considered so significant with IGT is because it positions the company as one of the top legal sports betting platforms in not just the Americas, but the entire world.
This deal will enhance mobile retail sports betting and aid in competitive positionings across Latin America, supporting global market entry.
