LAS VEGAS – Just a few weeks after the conclusion of the 2026 NBA Draft, the Las Vegas Summer League begins on Thursday afternoon and features two games with multiple top ten picks, including the Utah Jazz against the Washington Wizards with the top two overall picks.

The Jazz are slightly favored at legal sports betting sites in the first official meeting in the pros between the top two picks of the 2026 NBA Draft, AJ Dybantsa and Darryn Peterson.
The two faced off once in college, resulting in a 90-82 victory for Darryn Peterson’s Kansas Jayhawks with Peterson posting 18 points in just 20 minutes. Dybantsa had a mediocre game by his standards, scoring 17 points on 6-12 shooting from the field.
Peterson already has a few Summer League games under his belt after participating in the Salt Lake City Summer League this past week, averaging 26.5 points and 7 assists while shooting 52.8% from the field and 43.8% from deep in his first two games.
Dybantsa’s last appearance ended with a loss to Texas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament despite a 35 point performance from the eventual #1 pick.
The line of 186.5 total points is the highest of any game on the opening night of the Las Vegas Summer League and for good reason. In addition to the two most prominent scorers in the draft being on the floor, the Jazz scored over 100 points in each of their first three Salt Lake City games, including one without Peterson.
The Jazz also allowed two of their first three opponents to top the 100 point mark and last year’s #6 overall pick Tre Johnson will play for Washington, who averaged 19.5 points per game in his two Summer League games the year prior.

Wagler was one of the stars of the NCAA Tournament, leading Illinois to their first Final Four since 2005. His meteoric rise from unheralded high school prospect to a top five pick was one of the biggest headlines in college basketball in the past few seasons.
