- Argentina is favored to win and advance against Switzerland.
- Lionel Messi has +100 odds to score a goal.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 2026 World Cup quarterfinals finish on Saturday with Argentina taking on Switzerland for a spot in the semifinals. The match kicks off at 9 p.m. EST from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
To no surprise, legal sports betting sites are leaning on Argentina to win and advance to the semifinals. There is reason to believe, though, that Switzerland could keep things close given Argentina’s recent scares.
Note: Gamelines on World Cup betting sites only count towards the 90 minutes of regulation time and any extra stoppage time. They do not include the two 15-minute overtime periods or penalty shootouts.
Argentina Vs. Switzerland Betting Lines
- To Advance: Argentina (-310) vs. Switzerland (+250)
- Reg. Moneyline: Argentina (-143) vs. Switzerland (+440), Draw (+260)
- Reg. Spread: Argentina -0.5, -1 (-112)
- Reg. Total: 2 Goals
It’s hard to back Argentina to both win and cover in this one, considering the massive scares that they’ve gone through in the last two rounds. After starting the group stage 3-0, conceding just one goal while scoring eight, they looked nearly unstoppable.
Then came the Round of 32 and 16, where they beat Cape Verde 3-2 in extra time and outlasted Egypt after being down 0-2 in the 78th minute. Also, all of Argentina’s opponents to this point are ranked outside of the top 20 in FIFA.
On the Swiss side, they are quietly one of the top defensive units in the World Cup. They rank tied for third in conceded goals with just three. They also rank third in forced turnovers (242) and defensive pressures applied.
Overall, this is too strong of a defensive front for Argentina to have its way and score at will as they have.

He gets plenty of volume as well, with 29 total shots taken, with 17 of them on goal. He has just one assist across all five matches.
