LOS ANGELES – Jaxson Dart’s player-prop lines for Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams undercut the numbers the second-year quarterback posted in this season’s opener. NFL betting sites set his passing yards line at 213.5, his touchdown passes at 1.5 and his rushing yards at 30.5 ahead of an 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff at SoFi Stadium.
A Passing Line He Cleared In Week 1
The second-year quarterback hit on 23 of his 29 throws in the Sept. 13 opener against Dallas, a 28-20 Giants win, finishing with 230 yards through the air, three scoring passes, no interceptions and 54 rushing yards on 11 carries.
Those throws produced a completion percentage over expected of 13.4, a rate stat that measures accuracy against throw depth and difficulty, where a positive number means better accuracy than an average passer would manage on the same looks. That figure is far outside what quarterbacks sustain over a full season, and one game is too small a sample to call it real efficiency. Still, Dart’s 213.5-yard line for Monday sits well under what he produced against a Dallas defense he outplayed from the opening series.
Los Angeles will be without edge rusher Myles Garrett, who is on injured reserve for at least four games after knee surgery. Losing an edge rusher who can collapse the pocket makes it easier for Dart to repeat a Week 1 game in which he threw 29 passes without a turnover, a trend the legal sports betting market will be pricing again Monday.
A Touchdown Number That Asks For More Than Efficiency
Three touchdown passes without an interception made for the kind of night that inflates a passer rating, not a workload a passer repeats on command.
Dart shared the scoring against Dallas. Running back Cam Skattebo opened the game with a 3-yard touchdown run among his 18 carries for 81 yards. BetMGM’s 1.5-touchdown line isn’t asking Dart to be the only source of points, just to clear a total he beat by double in the opener.
A Rams Defense Already Picked Apart Once
Los Angeles’ Week 1 problems went beyond a stalled offense. San Francisco’s Brock Purdy completed 25 of 34 passes for 205 yards and three touchdowns, a 105.6 rating, in the 49ers’ 27-7 win over the Rams at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, overcoming an early interception to finish at better than 73% accuracy.
That defense let Purdy operate that comfortably with Garrett on the field, already playing through the knee trouble. Dart makes his first road start of the season without that rusher in the way as the Giants enter 1-0. The Rams are trying to avoid an 0-2 start.
