ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia is laying 14 points and a -625 moneyline price at home against Oklahoma Saturday, the largest spread among six true Southeastern Conference matchups on a seven-game board that also has an unbeaten Vanderbilt catching more than a touchdown on the road at Auburn.
Georgia Lays The Board’s Biggest Number In A True Matchup
Georgia enters 3-0 and ranked No. 2 in this week’s AP Top 25, hosting an Oklahoma team that is 2-1 and unranked. The price on legal sports betting boards has Georgia at -625 on the moneyline and Oklahoma at +430, with the spread at Georgia -14 and the total at 45.
That’s the widest number of the week among games that pit two Southeastern Conference teams against each other. It tops the week’s next-biggest true-conference number, Alabama laying 12.5 against South Carolina.
Two Ranked Teams Catching Points On The Road
Two games on the board have the higher-ranked team traveling and still getting points, because the number leans on the home team as much as the polls. No. 4 Ole Miss is 3-0 and ranked 17 spots above a 3-0 Florida team sitting at No. 21, yet Florida is favored by 3 points and -160 on the moneyline at home. Ole Miss backers get a field goal of cushion on the higher-ranked team.
The same shape shows up again later Saturday. No. 19 Missouri, also 3-0, is five spots above a 3-0 Mississippi State team at No. 24, but Mississippi State is favored by 6.5 and -235 at home. The Widest Number Belongs To A Non-Conference Game
Kentucky, 2-1 and unranked, is laying 20.5 points and -1500 on the moneyline against South Alabama, the widest number on the board even though it’s the only one of the seven that isn’t an SEC-versus-SEC game.
Kentucky is coming off the biggest result of its season, a 31-21 win last week at a Texas A&M team that had been ranked No. 9. That loss dropped the Aggies 14 spots to No. 23, and they’re now +8.5 and +280 on the road against a No. 10 LSU team that’s laying 8.5 at -360 on the moneyline.
Vanderbilt, still unbeaten at 3-0, carries the same +280 moneyline as the Aggies do after their upset loss. The Commodores are +9.5 on the road at Auburn, a team that already has a loss this season and is still favored to win outright.
