Book By Book
DraftKings took $107.4 million in online bets, its first $100 million month since March. It has been a rare mark this year. A Kentucky sportsbook has topped $100 million in online handle just four times in 2026, with DraftKings doing it in January, March and September and FanDuel doing it in January.
At the counters, Red Mile passed $50 million in all-time bets in June and now sits at $52 million, trailing only Churchill Downs’ $86.9 million among legal sportsbooks with a retail location in Kentucky. Together, the state’s retail sportsbooks have taken $240.2 million since launch, closing in on $250 million.
Then there’s Sandy’s. Its BetMGM-run retail sportsbook has taken $6.2 million in bets since launch. But, the handle at Sandy’s retail book has dropped each fiscal year, from $2.26 million in fiscal 2024 to $2.13 million in fiscal 2025 and $1.5 million in fiscal 2026. So far, it has taken $289,591 through the first three months of fiscal 2027.
