When Did Santa Ana Star Sportsbook Launch?
The Santa Ana Star Sportsbook launched on October 16th, 2018. New Mexico didn’t have any land-based sports betting thanks to the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA). After this federal law was repealed, it was up to the states to decide if they wanted to have sports betting. But New Mexico’s state Congress never introduced any bills to make sports betting in New Mexico happen. The reason New Mexico now has sports betting is because of the tribal gaming compact between the state and the tribes in New Mexico. This compact allows for sports betting to happen in the state.
Where Is The Santa Ana Star Sportsbook Located?
The sportsbook at the Star is right next to the Feast Buffet and Cantina Rio. Here you can place your sports bets and then you can visit Lounge 54 to enjoy the game and have some drinks. Or you can go to one of the nearby restaurants and have a meal while the game is going on. There are self-service betting terminals available for you to use to place your sports wagers as well. However, these have a max bet of $200. So if you are visiting before or after these hours, you might want to use one of the self-service terminals.
Everyday: 10sm – 8pm
How Old Do I Need To Be To Bet At Santa Ana Star Sportsbook?
Although you can be 18 to enjoy betting on the ponies, but you have to be 21 to enjoy casino gambling. This includes sports wagering. So even though younger bettors have to wait until they are the legal gambling age to go wager on games, they can have a great birthday celebration once they are old enough to sports bet at Santa Ana Star. Until then, they have to stick with horse racing, or maybe pick up golf while they are visiting.
Does Santa Ana Star Sportsbook Offer Full-Service Sports Betting?
Full-service sports betting is indeed offered in the sportsbook at the Star. But there is something you have to be aware of; you cannot make bets on the University of New Mexico or New Mexico State University. Other than those two colleges, feel free to bet on any other collegiate teams. Of course, you can also make a number of wagers on professional teams as well on various different sports.
Mobile Wagering At Santa Ana Star Sportsbook
Mobile sports betting is not yet available at the Santa Ana Star sportsbook. Sports bettors can partake in full-service sports betting at the land-based operator, but mobile betting is not yet available. The compact with New Mexico allows for mobile betting at the casino, but they have made no plans to launch any. Luckily, online sportsbooks offer mobile betting to all New Mexico players, making it so anyone anywhere in the state can partake in legal mobile sports betting. This can even be one from inside the casino sportsbook, being a great way of shopping the lines.
Live Betting At Santa Ana Star Sportsbook
It does not appear that the Santa Ana Star Casino offers live betting options. The Santa Ana Star Casino is unlikely to add live betting in the near future unless they partner with a larger third-party provider for sports betting (companies like William Hill, FanDuel, etc.). Live betting works in tandem with the social viewing experience.
