Aidan Hutchinson

  • Aidan Hutchinson has -150 odds to be selected first overall in the NFL Draft.
  • The Jacksonville Jaguars are projected to have the first overall pick.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Although there are still plenty of regular and post-season NFL odds to take advantage of, odds for the NFL Draft are up on who is going to be selected with the first overall pick. Sitting with the shortest odds is Michigan Wolverines defensive end, Aidan Hutchinson.

NFL Draft First Overall Pick Odds

  • Aidan Hutchinson -150
  • Kayvon Thibodeaux +200
  • Kenny Pickett +800
  • Matt Corral +800
  • Evan Neal +1600
  • Malik Willis +1600
  • Carson Strong +2800

Legal online betting sites have Hutchinson favored to be selected first overall considering the impact that he had on the Wolverines defense. First off, he finished third in the country and second across all Power Five conferences in total sacks this season with 14.

He also helped lead the Michigan run defense as one of the most successful in the country. This season, Michigan’s defense finished inside of the top-20 in rushing yards allowed (1,586, 17th) and rushing touchdowns (11, 17th) allowed to opponents.

Who Is Picking First Overall?

As the projections sit right now, the Jacksonville Jaguars are in line for the first overall pick in the NFL Draft. This comes as in Week 15, the Detroit Lions moved back from the top spot as they upset the Arizona Cardinals while the Jaguars lost their sixth straight.

No matter which of the two teams end up with the first pick, they are both in need of reinforcements on the defensive line. The Jaguars are 14th in the league for most rushing yards allowed this season (112.8 ypg) and are allowing the fourth-most rushing touchdowns per game as well (1.2). The Lions are letting up an even worse 133 rushing yards per game and allow 1.1 rushing touchdowns each week.

Looking at the upcoming schedules for both the Jaguars and Lions, they will both go up against teams in the hunt for a playoff run. The Jaguars could see a rare win in Week 16 against the New York Jets which could shift them back to the second pick. However, in Weeks 17 and 18 they are sure to be heavy underdogs to the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts.

The Lions could lose out the rest of their games as the Atlanta Falcons in Week 16 are still hoping for a playoff miracle as well as the Seattle Seahawks in Week 17. They will then be met by the first-place Green Bay Packers in Week 18.

As both teams need help against the run, Hutchinson’s NFL Draft odds would be a wise choice. To maximize profits, it is also smart to get in on them soon as they will shift as the draft gets closer.
