Best Bets For Yankees vs Royals On Monday Night

The Yankees’ record stands at 8-7, while the Royals have a record of 8-8.

New York has been sputtering as of late, winning just two of their last seven games after starting the season 6-2. They currently sit at second behind Toronto in the AL East standings.

The Royals lost their last series to Cleveland, dropping two of three games, but have won five of their last eight games overall.

The two teams have similar records but got there playing two vastly different styles of baseball.

The Yankees rank fifth in the majors in hits per game (8.73) and second in runs per game (6.33), while allowing the eighth most earned runs per game (4.53).

Meanwhile, Kansas City is just 22nd (7.19) in hits per game and 27th in runs per game (3.25), but allows the fifth least earned runs per game (3.19).

Seth Lugo will be on the mound for the Royals tonight and has fared decently against the Yankees in the past.

Last season, Lugo faced New York two times, allowing eight hits and four runs in seven innings in the first contest, then giving up just three hits and no runs with ten strikeouts in the second matchup.

Carlos Carrasco will pitch for the Yankees, currently sitting at a subpar 7.71 ERA through three appearances. He has not faced the Royals since 2019.
