Rams Vs. Seahawks

  • Russell Wilson’s player prop odds have his passing yard total set at 275.5 yards.
  • Matthew Stafford’s passing yard total is set at 300.5 yards.

SEATTLE Week 5 of the NFL season has a huge matchup in store for Thursday Night Football. The Los Angeles Rams are 3-point favorites in an NFC West showdown against the Seattle Seahawks.

While betting on the winner of the game is simple, those that are looking to dive deep into the odds can look at player props on regulated sports betting sites. One of the most popular player props to bet on are each of the quarterbacks passing yard totals. With two powerhouse quarterbacks going head-to-head in Russell Wilson and Matthew Stafford, a profit can be made betting on either of them.

Russell Wilson Passing Prop

Russell Wilson Passing Yard Total

  • OVER 275.5 -115
  • UNDER 275.5 -115

There is no doubting that Russell Wilson is one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the NFL. However, the Los Angeles Rams (-140) defense could be his kryptonite. Dating back to 2016, when the Rams first moved to Los Angeles, Wilson has never thrown for over 275.5 yards against the team.

He is looking at some major trouble against a tough Rams defense. First off, the Seahawks’ top receiver, D.K. Metcalf will be going up against one of, if not the best defensive back in the NFL in Jalen Ramsey. In their three meetings last season, Ramsey averaged a 65% cover rate on Metcalf for just 44 total receiving yards.

With Metcalf a non-factor against Ramsey, Wilson could look Tyler Lockett’s way. Lockett though will likely be going up against Darious Williams. Williams totaled five pass deflections, three interceptions, and one touchdown in three games against the Seahawks (+120) last season.

Russell Wilson is sure to have a tough time coming close to the OVER and cashing his NFL odds.

Matthew Stafford Passing Prop

Matthew Stafford Passing Yard Total

  • OVER 300.5 -115
  • UNDER 300.5 -115

Matthew Stafford has found a new home with the LA Rams and has not disappointed the team in his debut season so far. This season has seen him go over 300.5 yards in two of his four games. Also, in his career against the Seahawks overall, he has gone OVER in two of five games including his most recent game against them in 2018.

The OVER should not be tough for Stafford to accomplish being that the Seahawks have the fifth-worst secondary in the NFL. They have allowed 1,170 passing yards on the year for an average of 292.5 passing yards allowed per game.

With a receiving core made up of Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, DeSean Jackson, and Van Jefferson, it is hard to see Stafford not succeeding in this one and hitting the OVER for sports bettors.

Thursday Night Football has a start time of 8:20 p.m. EST on the FOX Network.
