RIO DE JANEIRO – Brazil is expecting a major boom in the sports betting market throughout the 2026 World Cup, with studies showing a breakdown of expected bets placed and people in the country who plan to place bets.
Legal sports betting sites in Brazil are gearing up for not just action on their national team, but on all of the different odds that come along with the World Cup.
A recent study which surveyed people in Brazil showed that six out of every 10 Brazilian residents plan to bet on the World Cup.
The Brazil sports betting study goes even further into how many people in the country will follow, bet, and what kind of bets they’ll place on the World Cup. It is projected that 77% of Brazilian residents will follow the 2026 World Cup, with about 37% of them actually placing a wager.
As far as what is going to be bet on, 51% of bets are expected on moneylines, 26% on total match goals, 18% on the outright winner of the World Cup, 10% on betting specials and specific events, and 8% of bets on the top overall goal scorer throughout the World Cup.
