Cowboys Favored By 4 Over Commanders After 0-1 Starts
  • Dallas is favored by 4 points and priced near -210 on the moneyline at home Sunday.
  • The Cowboys lost 28-20 as betting favorites on the road against the Giants in the opener.
  • Washington fell 24-22 at Philadelphia after a two-point try was stuffed with 61 seconds left.
  • The 50.5-point total is the highest number on Sunday’s 14-game Week 2 slate.

DALLAS – The Dallas Cowboys are a 4.0-point favorite over the Washington Commanders at AT&T Stadium on Sunday, one week after Dallas lost outright as a betting favorite in its own season opener.

Backing Dallas at -210 legal sports betting odds means risking $210 to win $100, steeper than the -175 the Cowboys closed at a week ago in a game they lost anyway. Washington at +175 pays $175 on a $100 stake for a team that was two yards from forcing overtime last Sunday.

Cowboys Fall As Favorites In New Jersey

New York scored first, never trailed and closed out a 28-20 win at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 13, handing Dallas a loss as the favorite in its own opener. The offense wasn’t the issue as Dak Prescott’s completion percentage over expected was plus-7.7, well above the league-average baseline of zero, on 309 air yards.

It’s a one-game number, but it points at the same defense that let New York pile up 28 points, the unit Dallas added Von Miller to try to fix after it finished last season as the NFL’s worst defense.

Commanders Miss By Two Yards

Washington opened its season with a 55-yard field goal, then gave up a 64-yard catch to Dontayvion Wicks that set up a 17-yard Dallas Goedert touchdown and a 42-yard Saquon Barkley run that set up a nine-yard Wicks score, falling behind 14-3. The Commanders answered but came up short converting a shovel pass to tight end John Bates for a game-tying two-point try that Philadelphia stuffed at the line with 61 seconds left, closing the game at 24-22.

Quarterback Jayden Daniels finished with a completion percentage over expected of minus-3.4, below the league-average baseline. “We shot ourselves in the foot too many times,” Daniels said after the loss.

Kickoff for the NFL betting board’s highest Sunday total is 4:25 p.m. Eastern on Fox, pitting two defenses that combined to allow 52 points in Week 1 against a number already priced for more scoring.
