PHOENIX – Chris Paul of the Phoenix Suns has been on an assist tear recently and sportsbooks are predicting this to continue against the Washington Wizards.

Over/Under – Assists Chris Paul (PHO)
- Over (9.5) -147
- Under (9.5) +112
Paul is also coming off of a 14 assist night vs the Portland Trail Blazers in the Suns’ last outing. This game did go to overtime, however.
Chris Paul Assist Trend
The Portland Trail Blazers have a defensive rating of 113, slightly worse than the Wizards 110.4 on the season. Paul finished with 12 assists against the Boston Celtics two games back and Boston’s defensive rating is 108.
Regardless of a team’s defensive rating, Paul has managed to have big assist nights so it’s understandable why legal betting sites see his odds favored so heavily for double-digit assists.
Paul did recently finish with just eight assists against the Los Angeles Clippers, however. The Clippers’ defensive rating is 105.8.

The interesting thing about Paul’s recent stretch is that his numbers have not changed drastically without star guard Devin Booker on the team.
Paul averages 14.6 PPG, 10.3 APG, and 4.0 RPG on the season. In the six games without Booker who is out due to injury, Paul is averaging 14.7 PPG, 10.7 APG, and 3.3 RPG. Combined, that’s a value of 28.7 which is barely down from the 28.9 averaged throughout the season.
Pts + Reb + Ast (At Least)
- Chris Paul (PHO) 31 -118
In his last three games, Paul finished with a combined 46 against Portland, 19 against the Clippers, and 25 against the Celtics.
While Paul has finished with less than the 31 set at NBA betting sites in recent games, his last outing proves he is capable of stuffing the stat sheet.
Paul faces the Wizards at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
