  • The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have +400 odds to land Watson.
  • There are +450 odds on Watson playing for the Minnesota Vikings.

HOUSTON – The Deshaun Watson saga is far from over as it has continued into the offseason. There are new reports that Watson has mentioned both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings as two teams he would like to play for.

Watson previously had the Miami Dolphins at the top of his list due to his relationship with former Miami head coach, Brian Flores. However, with Flores no longer with the team, he is on to the Buccaneers and the Vikings. The only thing in his way is that he is still under contract with the Houston Texans and would need to be traded.

If the Texans can get a team to take the risk and trade for Watson, it is clear that they would ship him off, but have stated that they are in no rush to lose value over him. With that, the Texans are heavy favorites on legal online sportsbooks to retain Watson until the right deal comes along.

Where Will Deshaun Watson Play Game 1 Of 2022-23?

  • Houston Texans -110
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +400
  • Minnesota Vikings +450
  • Carolina Panthers +950
  • Denver Broncos +950
  • Philadelphia Eagles +1000
  • Washington Commanders +1200
  • Pittsburgh Steelers +2000
  • New Orleans Saints +3000
  • Miami Dolphins +3000
  • Arizona Cardinals +3000

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The fact that Watson mentioned the Bucs as a potential landing spot makes more sense than some might think. The main reason is that Tom Brady is no longer under center for them and they will be in desperate need to fill that role in order for their Super Bowl odds to remain in contention.

Also, Bruce Arian, the Bucs head coach, is known for taking chances on players that have had their issues off the field and does get the best out of them. For example, Antonio Brown and Richard Sherman both dealt with issues last season and Arians welcomed them with open arms and continues to contend because of that. With that, the Buccaneers odds are certainly worth sprinkling a risk on.

Minnesota Vikings

As for the Vikings, this one is a bit out of left field being that there have been no reports of the team looking to move on from Kirk Cousins just yet. The Vikings just brought in a new head coach in Kevin O’Connell, who they believe could get the best out of Cousins being that he coached up Matthew Stafford with the Los Angeles Rams and played a huge role in them winning the Super Bowl.

That being said, there is no real need for the Vikings to pursue Watson and give up any assets when their head coach has high hopes for their current QB situation.
