- DraftKings Sportsbook is opening in Baton Rouge at the Hollywood Casino.
- This will be the second DraftKings sportsbook in Louisiana.
BATON ROUGE, La. – Sports betting in Louisiana has expanded to 11 retail sportsbooks in the state with DraftKings launching their second sportsbook in the Bayou State.
The expansion for this DraftKings sportsbook comes inside the Hollywood Casino in Baton Rouge. However, this launch is just a temporary casino being that there are plans for an even bigger sportsbook launch in 2023.
Included in the launch, the retail location will offer bettors tons of opportunities to bet on sports with 20 betting kiosks and three betting windows to place bets. In total, the permanent launch in 2023 will be 38,000 square feet.
“The temporary DraftKings Sportsbook at Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge will provide customers with new, exciting ways to enjoy this historic property, and we’re thrilled our expanded DraftKings partnership will offer guests their premier sports betting technology—We believe this temporary DraftKings Sportsbook space will lay the foundation for one of the most engaging sports viewing environments, which will be further elevated upon the opening of the proposed permanent DraftKings Sportsbook next year,” said Terry Downey CQ Holding Company Inc. CEO.
DraftKings has already made their presence known in Louisiana as they already have a retail location in Lake Charles at the Golden Nugget Casino. In addition to their retail location, they have a legal online betting site available in the state as well.
The second DraftKings sportsbook can expect significant numbers based on previous Louisiana sports betting revenue figures. Retail sportsbooks saw $5.9 million in revenue while mobile sportsbooks saw $7.6 million all since the start of 2022.
