Texas vs Texas Tech Game 2 Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Texas -1.5 (+178) -115 O 6.5 (+105)
Texas Tech +1.5 (-235) -115 U 6.5 (-135)

Game 1 came down to the wire as Texas mounted a two run rally in the sixth inning to pull off an improbable 2-1 victory. legal sports betting sites essentially have this game as a toss up with both teams at -115 odds.

Though it could go either way, history is on Texas’ side. Here’s why bettors should roll with the Longhorns.

Historic Dominance

Texas has owned the Red Raiders in softball ever since the two schools began their programs, going 57-11 against Texas Tech since 2000. They have won the last 15 consecutive games against their in-state rivals.

They have also beat Texas Tech four consecutive times in Devon Park in Oklahoma City and haven’t lost to the Red Raiders since 2021.

Though this is one of the better Texas Tech teams in recent memory, it is difficult to shake off the “little brother” tag from Texas.

Texas Overcomes Adversity

As previously mentioned, the Longhorns were able to string together some hits in crunch time to come back and win Game 1. They recorded three of their four hits for the whole game in that sixth inning.

Additionally, Texas committed four errors in the field but allowed just one run. The chances of them committing that many errors again are slim and Texas Tech may have missed their best chance to capitalize on their sloppy play.

NiJaree Canady pitched a solid game up until that sixth inning, but it can be daunting to face the same lineup so many times as they begin to get familiar with the pitcher.

The same goes for Teagan Kavan, but the difference lies in the Texas offense, which was 13th in the country in runs per game this season as compared to Texas Tech’s 35th ranked offense.

This game truly could go either way, but Texas has history on their side as well as having proven that they can win under tough circumstances. Take the Longhorns at -115.
