Journalism Favored To Win 2025 Belmont Stakes, Sovereignty Close Behind - Journalism, Sovereignty
  • Journalism is favored to win the 2025 Belmont Stakes with +160 odds.
  • There are +200 odds for Sovereignty to win the Belmont Stakes.

ELMONT, N.Y. – The last leg of the three Triple Crown races, the Belmont Stakes, is scheduled for Saturday. Things are shaping out to be a close race towards the top of the odds board with Journalism and Sovereignty extremely competitive with one another.

As the odds currently sit at legal sports betting sites, Journalism, the winner of the Preakness Stakes, is the favorite to win while Sovereignty, the Kentucky Derby winner, isn’t too far behind with the second shortest odds.

2025 Belmont Stakes Odds

  • 7. Journalism +160
  • 2. Sovereignty +200
  • 6. Baeza +450
  • 3. Rodriguez +500
  • 1. Hill Road +1000
  • 5. Crudo +2000
  • 8. Heart Of Honor +3500
  • 4. Uncaged +5000

Back Either Journalism Or Sovereignty

While many like to take several longer odds on horse race betting sites and pray for one of them to cash, this is not the race to do so as both Journalism and Sovereignty are as strong as can be. Either horse could have made a case to be a Triple Crown winner had they raced in each of the three races.

Starting at the top of the odds board with Journalism, in seven career races, they’ve won five and finished in the top-3 in the races they didn’t win. Journalism did race in the Kentucky Derby and finished second and also participated in the Preakness Stakes and came out victorious.

As for Sovereignty, in their six career races, five of them have been top-2 finishes with three wins. They also won the Kentucky Derby.

With all said about Sovereignty and Journalism, those betting on the Belmont Stakes can pick their poison between the two as their odds sit far ahead of the rest of the field.
