Kalshi Partners With 5 MLB Teams Despite Ongoing Lawsuits
  • Kalshi becomes the exclusive prediction market partner of five iconic Major League Baseball teams.
  • The Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants enter multi-year brand partnerships with Kalshi.
  • Meanwhile, California and Massachusetts are actively battling Kalshi in court over their sports event contracts, which includes baseball trading.

LOS ANGELESKalshi announced exclusive, multi-year partnerships with 5 MLB teams; the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants. The partnership includes in-stadium branding, signage, digital promotions, and Kalshi-specific prediction market offers with on-site activations at stadiums.

For example, the Dodgers partnership includes LED Kalshi-branded signage throughout the stadium and even naming rights for the Gold Glove Bar at Dodger Stadium. The deal does not include access to MLB’s official data feed, which would play a large role in their in-game live trading markets.

Kalshi claims that baseball-related trading volume is up 36x year-over-year, but trading baseball and other sports is under legal fire. Kalshi is actively battling California and Massachusetts in court regarding their sports event contracts as illegal sports betting, but now they’re posting signage in ballparks throughout those states.

Kalshi Still Battling With Massachusetts + California In Court

While California sports betting remains illegal, Kalshi has filled the void with their prediction markets. State tribes are fighting Kalshi in federal court, and at the same time Kalshi is advertising within the stadiums of California’s three largest MLB teams.

Kalshi’s partnership with the Boston Red Sox is even more notable considering Massachusetts ruled against Kalshi and Kalshi is actively fighting against a preliminary injunction blocking their sports event contracts. A decision is expected within a few weeks, but as it stands, the Red Sox could partner with a prediction market that can’t offer trading outcomes on Red Sox games.

Polymarket is the official prediction market of Major League Baseball and the New York Yankees, while other federally-regulated prediction market Novig partnered with the New York Mets. As states are racing to regulate prediction markets like Kalshi, these same markets are racing to commercial profits in leagues like MLB.
