BATON ROUGE, La.Louisiana has officially crossed the $10 billion mark in total player winnings since legal online sports betting launched in early 2021.

The most lucrative period players had against legal online sportsbooks was from October 2024 to March 2025. Player winnings during this time reached a six-month total of $2.1 billion.

With $359 million in player winnings, October 2024 is by far the biggest month, followed by November and December 2024.

Based on seasonal trends, player earnings have historically been lowest in July, totaling just $567.6 million over all years. In the state’s history of sports betting, November has been the most profitable month overall, with player winnings coming close to $1 billion.

The growth in payouts reflects the rising popularity of legal sports betting in Louisiana. Player winnings started at $57 million in 2021, then jumped dramatically to $2.09 billion in 2022. The upward trajectory continued with $2.54 billion in 2023 and $3.23 billion in 2024.
