LAS VEGAS – The Sunday slate for Week 1 of the NFL season has come to a close and some surprising outcomes took place in terms of the betting odds that hit and missed.

Regulated online sportsbooks set tons of different odds before the opening week of the season including game lines, player prop bets, and game prop bets. With Week 1 almost entirely in the books, there were different underdogs and players that cashed out, much to the surprise of fans and oddsmakers.

The Miami Dolphins took down their division rivals, the New England Patriots in Week 1 with a final score of 17-16. Going into the game, the Dolphins NFL odds put them in the category of the underdogs at (+150) making them the biggest underdog in Week 1 to offer big payouts.

Taking a look at past matchups, it was surprising that the Dolphins were the underdogs because the team has won their last three games against the Patriots in New England and also four of the last six games against the Patriots overall.

Rodgers managed to stay under every single one of his totals after completing just 15 passes for 133 yards and zero touchdowns. In fact, over the last five seasons, this could be considered his worst game to date, as he recorded his lowest stat in every category all in one game with nearly half the interceptions he made last season being done in his first game of the year.

Derrick Henry Game Totals

After coming off of a 2,000+ yard and 17 touchdown season in 2020, many were expecting Derrick Henry to pick up right where he left off. NFL betting sites had a similar idea as his game totals were set at 105.5 rushing yards and 0.5 touchdowns.

Yet that was not the case in Week 1 of the 2021-2022 NFL season as Henry had just 17 rushing attempts for 58 yards and no touchdowns.

This should not be the weekly expectation for Henry as he saw more than 17 rush attempts in every game last season and 58 yards is his second-lowest total since last season as well.
