Two West Conference Teams To Pick At Summer League Tuesday - Terrence Shannon Jr.
  • The Minnesota Timberwolves are favored against the Detroit Pistons as both teams enter the game with a 2-0 record.
  • Despite losing their first two games, the New Orleans Pelicans are two point favorites over the Portland Trail Blazers.

LAS VEGASNBA Summer League rolls along on Tuesday night as the playoff picture begins to form. A game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Detroit Pistons could have major playoff implications.

Timberwolves vs Pistons Game Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Timberwolves -3.0 (-110) -160 O 187.0 (-110)
Pistons +3.0 (-110) +135 U 187.0 (-110)

Legal sports betting sites give the Timberwolves a three point cushion against the Pistons on Tuesday night. This is the only game Tuesday where both teams enter at 2-0.

Minnesota beat the Pelicans and Nuggets in their first two games while Detroit defeated the Rockets and the Knicks.

Both teams have not been afraid to let threes fly, Minnesota shooting 43 three point attempts in their most recent outing and the Pistons averaging 36 three point attempts per game through the first two.

Detroit has been much more efficient from downtown, shooting 38.9% to Minnesota’s 29.2%. However, this could play to the advantage of the Timberwolves having shown that they can win without reliance on the three ball.

Minnesota has allowed just 19 threes through the first two games while Detroit has averaged 14 made threes per game.

If the Timberwolves can run Detroit off the line and get another 20+ point outing from second year guard Terrence Shannon Jr., they will be in good shape to win this one.

Trail Blazers vs Pelicans Game Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Trail Blazers +2.0 (-105) +115 O 179.0 (-110)
Pelicans -2.0 (-115) -135 U 179.0 (-110)

The New Orleans Pelicans are favored by two points over the Portland Trail Blazers in their late night matchup on Tuesday at NBA betting sites. New Orleans enters the game at 0-2 while the Trail Blazers have gone 1-1.

However, bettors should bet on Portland to win this game outright.

New Orleans has been flat out bad through their first two games, shooting just 39% from the field overall. Rookies Jeremiah Fears and Derik Queen both have yet to find their footing, Fears shooting just 27% from the field and Queen at 42% through two games.

The team’s lack of chemistry has really stood out, totalling just 19 assists thus far. Meanwhile, Portland has surpassed 19 assists in each of their first two games.

The Trail Blazers struggled from the field in their loss to the Warriors but have been consistently good from the three point line, shooting 38.5% from deep on 35 attempts per game.

On top of all this, the Pelicans have not won a Summer League game since 2023, losing eight straight.

All indications are that Portland is the better team and history is not on the Pelicans’ side. Bet on the Trail Blazers to win outright at +115.
