That brutal stretch of losses includes a three-game sweep by the Chicago Cubs sandwiched between seven games against the Los Angeles Dodgers (2-5). The pitching has been rough to start July, most notably from starting pitcher Walker Buehler.
After posting a 1.71 ERA across five starts in June, Buehler allowed 7+ earned runs in back-to-back July starts. Buehler got tagged for nine earned runs across four innings against the Cubs, then followed it up with seven earned runs against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday.
