Notre Dame Wisconsin Odds: Irish Favored By 20.5
  • Notre Dame is a 20.5-point favorite over Wisconsin for Sunday’s 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Lambeau Field.
  • Notre Dame’s moneyline has shortened from -2500 at the open to -1600 at Bovada, and from -2100 to -1800 at BetOnline.
  • Bovada gives Notre Dame the board’s shortest national championship price at +600, ahead of preseason No. 1 Ohio State’s +650.
  • Wisconsin is priced at +10000 to win the Big Ten this season, behind eight teams on Bovada’s board.

GREEN BAY, Wisc. – Notre Dame is a 20.5-point favorite over Wisconsin for Sunday’s season opener at Lambeau Field, a game the Fighting Irish enter with the shortest national championship price on Bovada’s board at +600.

A Moneyline That Has Gotten Cheaper

Notre Dame -20.5 has held since it opened, priced at -115 at Bovada and -113 at BetOnline. The moneyline underneath that number has not sat still. Bovada opened the Irish at -2500 and now has them at -1600, and BetOnline has come in from -2100 to -1800, over a stretch in which the point spread never moved off 20.5. Wisconsin’s moneyline shortened too, from +1000 to +800 at Bovada and from +1069 to +979 at BetOnline.

Backing Notre Dame outright now costs less than it did when the number first went up. Anyone who backed the Irish early paid the steeper price, and anyone betting it today is buying a cheaper ticket on the same 20.5-point favorite.

The total has come down a point. Bovada opened it at 47.5 and now has 46.5 at -110 on both over and under, and BetOnline’s 46.5 sits at -105 over and -115 under. Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr is projected for 229.5 passing yards at Bovada, and Wisconsin’s own team total is set at 13.5 points, a number that comes in under two converted touchdowns and sits in line with the 20.5-point spread.

The Board’s Shortest Title Price

Notre Dame carries the shortest national championship price on Bovada’s board entering the opener, ahead of preseason No. 1 Ohio State at +650, Texas at +675 and Oregon at +775. That gap is thin – four teams separated by only 175 points of price before a snap has been played this season. A nationally televised result at Lambeau Field carries more weight for where that number moves next on the legal college football betting board than a typical Week 1 game usually would for a team already priced as the favorite.

Wisconsin’s Long Climb

Wisconsin is priced at +10000 to win the Big Ten this season, ninth on Bovada’s board behind Ohio State (+190), Indiana (+250) and Oregon (+275), the three teams the market treats as the conference’s real contenders.

That price puts Sunday in context. Wisconsin isn’t just an underdog for one game at Lambeau Field, it is priced as a non-contender for its own conference before the season starts. A backdoor cover at +20.5 would not move that number. The Big Ten market is set on roster and schedule, not on one Sunday in Green Bay.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Eastern on NBC, part of Notre Dame’s Shamrock Series and the season opener for both programs on the legal sports betting board.
