Can OKC Repeat As NBA Champs?
NBA betting odds are certainly pointing in the direction of a repeat champion in OKC. Bettors should know though that the last time there was a repeat champion was in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons when the Golden State Warriors did so. The Thunder’s +240 opening odds are also the strongest opening odds since that Warriors team as well when they opened both seasons under even odds in the preseason.
Directly following OKC are the Houston Rockets who just saw their odds jump from +1800 to that +750 spot after the team traded for Kevin Durant.
The Pacers sit with the third shortest odds at +800, however, bettors should hold off here for now until injury news comes out for Tyrese Haliburton who suffered an Achilles injury in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
With the fourth shortest odds are the New York Knicks and they are a massive team to watch as they have all the right pieces to make a deep playoff run as they did this season and are sure to make a splash in free agency.
Rounding out the teams under +1000 odds to win the NBA Finals next season are the Cleveland Cavaliers who finished first place in the Eastern Conference this season.
