Potawatomi Casino

  • Legal sports betting in Milwaukee launched on Friday with the commencement of Potawatomi Sportsbook.
The sportsbook is open for betting at Potawatomi Casino Hotel, the second physical location with sports betting across Wisconsin.

MILWAUKEEPotawatomi Casino Hotel in Wisconsin celebrated the launching of Milwaukee’s first sportsbook on Friday. Potawatomi’s sportsbook officially opened for business with Mayor Cavalier Johnson placing the first wager, a $20 bet on the Milwaukee Bucks to win the 2023 NBA Championship.

With its opening, Potawatomi Casino becomes the second legal sports betting location in Wisconsin. It also becomes the only location to place sports wagers in Milwaukee, making the casino a desirable attraction.

The countless amenities at the luxurious Potawatomi Casino indicate that they’re prepared for an influx of excited sports bettors. Multiple rows of betting machines, live table games, a massive bar with food options, and a viewing area that allows bettors to watch up to eight different games are just some examples of entertainment options at the casino. They’re not stopping there.

According to Potawatomi Sportsbook Director Justin Arnett, they have plans to become one of the top betting locations in the country. In Arnett’s interview with Milwaukee news channel WISN 2, he claimed:

“We’re going to have a really large LED screen, two stories tall and 120 feet wide, with a bar and a lot of seating. It’s gonna be the real deal. There’s going to be nothing like it in the whole Midwest, maybe even the whole country, except for in Las Vegas.”

The massive sports betting entertainment area will replace the former Northern Lights Theater. With the introduction of Potawatomi Sportsbook, Milwaukee has become the hot spot for  Wisconsin sports betting.

The sportsbook prohibits wagers on in-state collegiate sports and horse racing but offers sharp options such as live betting and parlays. Potawatomi offers the standard single game and future betting options with player prop betting options as well.

Due to Wisconsin’s sports betting laws that prohibit online sports betting, all bets must be placed on-site at the Potawatomi Casino. The bets will be placed and redeemed at cashier stations positioned throughout the casino.

Although most bettors would rather place wagers from anywhere in the state on their phones, the physical location’s entertainment amenities make it a great place to bet on a sporting event.
