- The Thunder are road favorites over the Spurs on Wednesday night despite losing three of the first four meetings between the two teams this season.
- Chet Holmgren has averaged just 10.5 points per game against the Spurs this year and has -110 odds to score less than 16.5 points tonight.
SAN ANTONIO – The Oklahoma City Thunder travel to Texas to face the San Antonio Spurs in a primetime matchup between two of the best teams in the Western Conference.
Thunder vs Spurs Game Odds
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thunder | -1.5 (-110) | -120 | O 222.0 (-110) |
| Spurs | +1.5 (-110) | EVEN | U 222.0 (-110) |
Legal sports betting sites list the Thunder as slight favorites on the road against the Spurs in the two teams’ fifth and final meeting this season.
Oklahoma City will be without guard Jalen Williams, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury and Ajay Mitchell is listed as a game time decision, missing the last six games with an abdominal strain.
Stephon Castle is listed as questionable for San Antonio with left adductor tightness, which forced him to sit out the team’s last game.
Spurs To Win Outright (EVEN)
San Antonio has had Oklahoma City’s number so far this season, winning three of their first four matchups.
Only one of those games was played in San Antonio, which ended as a 130-110 victory for the Spurs with Victor Wembanyama playing just 23 minutes shortly after his return from injury. The Thunder also had Jalen Williams available for that game, which will not be the case tonight, so Oklahoma City is already at a disadvantage.
The Spurs own the fifth best home record in the NBA, winning five of their last six home games entering tonight. More importantly, the Thunder are on the second half of a back to back, in which they have gone just 3-4 so far this season.
San Antonio should be able to take care of business at home.
Chet Holmgren To Score Under 16.5 Points (-110)
Holmgren is averaging 17.7 points per game this season while shooting 56.6% from the field and 35.8% from the field.
This line may seem conservative considering his season averages as well as the fact that Jalen Williams will not be playing, which means there will be more shot attempts available.
However, in 23 games without Jalen Williams this season, Holmgren has averaged the same exact amount of points per game with a slight dip in efficiency. On top of this, he has struggled mightily against the Spurs, averaging just 10.5 points per game while shooting 38.7% from the field and 20% from three in four games.
Holmgren has also struggled in the second game of back to backs, scoring more than 15 points just one time in four occurrences.
While it may seem like a discounted line from NBA betting sites, expect Holmgren’s offensive output tonight to be limited.
