Minnesota Timberwolves vs San Antonio Spurs Series Odds
| Team | Moneyline | Total Games |
|---|---|---|
| Timberwolves | +950 | O 5.5 (+230) |
| Spurs | -2000 | U 5.5 (-290) |
The Spurs are huge favorites to win the series at legal sports betting sites with -2000 odds to win the series. It’s expected to be a quick series as well, with -290 odds to go under 5.5 total games.
Though Minnesota was able to pull off the upset against the #3 seed Nuggets, they racked up injuries in the first round, losing Donte DiVincenzo to a torn achilles, Anthony Edwards to a hyperextended knee, and Ayo Dosunmu to what is being called a sore calf. Edwards and Dosunmu both have a chance to return at some point in the series.
The Spurs were impressive in the first round, winning in five games and each of their four wins coming by double digits against Portland. San Antonio remains behind only Oklahoma City in odds to win the Finals at +400.
Minnesota Timberwolves vs San Antonio Spurs Game 1 Odds
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Timberwolves | +14.0 (-105) | +600 | O 216.5 (-110) |
| Spurs | -14.0 (-115) | -950 | U 216.5 (-110) |
San Antonio is a 14 point favorite at home in Game 1 on NBA betting sites, as Minnesota will be without Edwards and possibly Dosunmu. The Spurs won two of their three home games in the first round while the Timberwolves went 1-2 in their three games on the road against Denver.
Minnesota won the regular season series two games to one, but had Edwards and DiVincenzo in all three games. They did not have Dosunmu for any of those games, and Victor Wembanyama missed one of the three.
It is still likely a wise bet to pick Minnesota to cover the spread, as they were able to take down Denver when they were shorthanded and both of their losses came by 12 or less points. 14 points is simply too large of a gap to bet against.
