A Number Neither Favorite Has Covered
Texas Tech has won both its games this season by beating up on overmatched opponents on paper, 33-10 over Abilene Christian and a shakier 35-24 escape against Oregon State, yet has failed to cover either legal sports betting spread time as a heavy favorite. Hammond Replaces Two Departed Starters
Will Hammond has thrown for 487 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in his first two starts back from the knee injury that ended his 2025 season early. Weigman, a former Texas A&M starter in his second year with the Cougars, has been the more efficient of the two quarterbacks so far, completing 29 of 42 passes for a 180.7 passer rating against Hammond’s 152.5.
