SAN ANTONIO – With the conclusion of the 2026 NBA Finals, here is a look forward to which teams have the best odds to win the title next season.
2027 NBA Finals Winner Odds
- San Antonio Spurs +250
- Oklahoma City Thunder +260
- New York Knicks +450
- Boston Celtics +600
- Cleveland Cavaliers +2500

The Spurs are the outright favorites to win next year’s NBA Finals at legal sports betting sites despite losing to the Knicks in just five games in one of the biggest meltdowns in the history of the sport.
San Antonio held a lead for approximately 72% of the entire series and reached an 83% win probability or better in each of the four games that they lost, including a 99.6% win probability in Game 4 when they blew a 29 point lead, the largest blown lead in NBA Finals history.
Knicks beat the Spurs 4-1 in the NBA Finals. Of the 240 minutes played in 5 games…
— Spurs led for 173 minutes & 46 seconds, or 72.4% of the series.
— Knicks led for 56 minutes & 34 seconds, or 23.5% of the series.
— Game was tied for 9 minutes & 50 seconds, or 4.1% of the…— Tomer Azarly (@TomerAzarly) June 14, 2026
Though it was an encouraging season all things considered, the Spurs will clearly need to make some adjustments to their personnel and rotations, preferably by adding another forward and shifting more minutes to former #2 overall pick Dylan Harper.
The newly crowned champion New York Knicks are third with +450 odds behind San Antonio and previous champion Oklahoma City after winning their first title since 1973. The majority of the Knicks’ core is under contract for next season with the exception of Mitchell Robinson and Landry Shamet.
The team has cap space to retain Robinson, but could get dicey outside of that. Shamet is a question mark given the expectation of the team going over the first apron and any other outside moves would be difficult to navigate cap-wise.
Thunder, Celtics Are Contenders With Roster Moves Expected
The Thunder were just one win away from returning to the Finals for the second consecutive season and find themselves with +260 odds to win the title next season, just behind the Spurs.
Injuries plagued Oklahoma City in the playoffs, losing both Jalen Williams and Ajay Mitchell for the final few games of the Western Conference Finals, which they would ultimately go on to lose in seven games.
They could be forced to make some key changes this offseason with both Lu Dort ($18.2M) and Isaiah Hartenstein ($28.5M) on team options. OKC is projected to be over the second apron which significantly restricts their ability to make any moves this offseason.
The last team with odds below +1000 is the Boston Celtics, coming off of a disappointing first round exit against the 76ers where they blew a 3-1 lead. Boston earned the 2-seed in what was expected to be a “gap” year with Jayson Tatum missing most of the season with a torn achilles.
Tatum’s speedy return and encouraging performance in his limited games makes the Celtics a top contender once again and Brad Stevens has been vocal about his displeasure with the team’s early exit this postseason.
The Celtics have emerged as a threat to land two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo in what would almost certainly have to be a three-team trade involving Jaylen Brown. Should Boston acquire Milwaukee’s star forward, their odds would likely jump into the top three at NBA betting sites.
