Cal Raleigh Given Shortest Odds To Win 2025 Home Run Derby
  • Seattle Mariners’ catcher Cal Raleigh has the shortest odds to win the 2025 MLB Home Run Derby. He currently leads the league with 38 home runs.
  • Byron Buxton has hit the longest home run of any player in the field, a 479-foot bomb, the second longest in the league this season.

ATLANTAMLB All-Star weekend kicks off with the iconic Home Run Derby on Monday night at 8 PM EST as the Braves host the festivities for the first time since 2000. Here are the players with the shortest odds to win the derby.

2025 MLB Home Run Derby Odds

  • Cal Raleigh +280
  • Oneil Cruz +300
  • James Wood +400
  • Matt Olson +750
  • Byron Buxton +800
  • Brent Rooker +950

Legal sports betting sites list MLB home run leader Cal Raleigh as the favorite to win the classic MLB All-Star weekend event at +280 odds, ahead of Oneil Cruz and James Wood.

Raleigh has been on a historic pace in the first half of the season, hitting 38 home runs before the All-Star break, the second most in the history of the MLB before the break, just one shy of Barry Bonds’ all-time record of 39. He has already recorded the most home runs of any season in his career, surpassing his personal best of 34 home runs last season.

Oneil Cruz of the Pittsburgh Pirates currently sits with the second best odds of the field to bring home the event. Though he has hit just 16 home runs so far this season, Cruz has some of the biggest power in the MLB, with a career long 472-foot home run last season. His longest home run so far this season measured in at 463-feet, the 11th longest home run in the league this year.

Washington’s James Wood has +400 odds to win the home run derby, tied for the eighth most home runs this season with 24. Wood is 22-years old, the second youngest player in the competition, just a few months older than Junior Caminero of the Rays (+1000). Listed at 6’7” and 234 pounds, Wood wields plenty of power to win the event.

Atlanta’s own Matt Olson will compete in the contest, replacing teammate Ronald Acuna Jr. Olson has slugged 17 home runs this season, though he is much more of a solid overall hitter than a home run machine. He may get a boost from the home crowd, but Olson does not appear to be on track to win this year’s derby.

Byron Buxton has never been known for his power, topping out at just 28 home runs in a season, but he has been much more explosive at the plate in 2025, hitting 21 home runs before the break with a .975 OPS, which would be a career high extrapolated for a whole season. He hit for the cycle just a few days ago and could look to carry some of that momentum into the competition.

Brent Rooker of the Athletics rounds out the top six, hitting 20 home runs before the break. He ranks in the top 20 in both home runs and slugging percentage for the first half of the season, a lone bright spot in what has been a rough year for the A’s. However, he does not possess the sort of “easy power” that others in the field have, limiting his upside.

Considering all of this, it is easy to see why Raleigh would be the best choice for bettors. With the most home runs in the league and the second highest slugging percentage behind only Aaron Judge, it is surprising to see him at +280 odds.
