OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The 2025 BMW Championship is the next event on the schedule for the PGA Tour and it will take place this weekend at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. Here are the six golfers with the shortest odds to win the event.
PGA Tour BMW Championship Odds
- Scottie Scheffler +250
- Rory McIlroy +750
- Ludvig Aberg +2000
- Patrick Cantlay +2000
- Tommy Fleetwood +2000
- Xander Schauffele +2000
Legal sports betting sites give Scottie Scheffler the edge to win the BMW Championship with Rory McIlroy as the only other golfer with under +1000 odds.
Scheffler has been far and away the best golfer on the PGA Tour this season, ranking first in both the FedExCup Playoff standings as well as the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR). With four wins, one second place finish, and 14 total top ten finishes this season, Scheffler has found himself as the favorite in the majority of his events.
He did scuffle in last year’s BMW Championship, however, finishing 33rd with a +1, but it would be surprising to see a repeat performance from one of the world’s best.
Rory McIlroy is second to Scheffler in both the FedExCup Playoff Standings and OWGR with three total wins in 2025. McIlroy has not won an event since earning the career triple crown at the Masters back in April, but has rattled off three consecutive top ten finishes in his last three outings.
He finished tied for 11th at last year’s BMW Championship, shooting -6 overall.
Ludvig Aberg finished the highest out of the golfers with the six shortest odds in the 2024 BMW Championship, tying for second with a -11, just one stroke behind the eventual champion Keegan Bradley.
Aberg won the Genesis Invitational back in February, but since then has missed the cut (4) more times than he has finished top ten (3).
Patrick Cantlay had a strong start to the season but has struggled as of late, missing the cut in three of his last seven outings. He finished tied for 13th at last year’s BMW Championship, finishing -5 just behind Rory McIlroy.
Tommy Fleetwood finished fifth at the BMW Championship last season finishing at -8 and has put together some solid performances recently, finishing top five in two of his last four outings. However, Fleetwood has never won an event in his 15 year pro career.
Xander Schauffele tied Fleetwood with a -8 at last year’s BMW Championship and looks to put together another strong performance at this year’s event. He ranks just 43rd on the FedExCup Playoff standings but 3rd on the OWGR, meaning there has been a disparity in his performance and perceived talent.
Once again, Scheffler leads the way at PGA Tour betting sites, but McIlroy, Aberg, and Schauffele certainly could give him a run for his money.
