- Renegade is a +185 favorite to win the Belmont Stakes in its nine horse field.
- Golden Tempo, who won the Kentucky Derby, has the fourth best odds at +650.
- Commandment has a similar profile and 2026 track record to the two previous winners of the Belmont.
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The 2026 Belmont Stakes is set for Saturday at Saratoga Race Course in New York, marking the third and final leg of the triple crown.
2026 Belmont Stakes Winner Odds
- Renegade +185
- Chief Wallabee +350
- Commandment +550
- Golden Tempo +650
- Emerging Market +700
- Growth Equity +1200
Renegade is the outright favorite at +185 odds, one of just two horses below +500, the other being Chief Wallabee at +350 at legal sports betting sites.
Off to a strong 2026 campaign, Renegade took home the Sam F. Davis and G1 Arkansas Derby before finishing second to Golden Tempo in the Kentucky Derby, missing the win by just a neck’s length. He got off to a slow start out of the 1-hole in that race, but drew a more favorable 4th post at the Belmont.
Chief Wallabee finished fourth at the Kentucky Derby and only has one career win, but has Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott in his corner, giving him an invaluable advantage.
Commandment comes in with the third best odds and has some overlapping history with the two previous Belmont winners. Dornoch and Sovereignty, the last two winners, each won the G2 Fountain of Youth at Gulfstream, ran the Kentucky Derby, and skipped the Preakness before taking home the Belmont title.
Golden Tempo won the Kentucky Derby and decided to skip the Preakness in order to train for Belmont, drawing the 9-post to start the race and +650 odds at Belmont Stakes betting sites.
Emerging Market is a bit of a wildcard, winning the G2 Louisiana Derby over Golden Tempo before finishing 10th at the Kentucky Derby. He is the son of 2003 Belmont winner Empire Maker, so it certainly could be in his blood to pull out a win with +700 odds.
Growth Equity skipped the Kentucky Derby, but recently won the G3 Peter Pan Stakes in May and has never finished outside of the top two in his four career starts.
