The 21 year-old Czech pulled off an impressive come-from-behind victory in the third round against #17 Sorana Cirstea, losing the first set 6-2 before winning 6-3 and 7-6 in the final two sets. She won her second career singles title at the German Open just a few weeks ago.
Mertens has been a pro since 2010 and has won 10 singles titles in her career, but none in 2026. After a successful 2025 season in which she held a singles record of 36-20 and won two titles, she’s gone just 19-13 so far this year. However, she has caught fire as of late, winning her last six straight sets heading into this one.
She’s been solid on grass over the years with a career record of 49-36 on the surface, as has Noskova with a 21-10 record. This one will be closely contested, but those betting on tennis should lean towards the youth of Noskova and her 20-11 record in 2026 to advance to the semifinals.
