Raiders And 49ers Won Thursday, Three More Games Friday
Week 2 opened Thursday, when Las Vegas beat Houston 22-20 and San Francisco beat the Chargers 41-17. Three more games follow Friday night: the Jets at the Steelers at 7 p.m. ET, the Panthers at the Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. and the Packers at the Broncos at 9 p.m. NFL Network carries the Steelers and Broncos games.

The 53-Man Cutdown Moved Up To Sunday, Aug. 30
Every team must be at 53 players by 6 p.m. ET Sunday, Aug. 30. The league moved the date up two days from the Tuesday deadline of recent seasons.
Pulling the deadline forward compresses what teams have left to evaluate. The final preseason week runs Thursday, Aug. 27 through Saturday, Aug. 29, putting the last game roughly a day before the cut. For a player on the roster bubble, Saturday’s snaps are the last long look most will get, and the depth charts that follow set the Week 1 matchups on the legal sports betting board.
Waiver claims are due the next day, at 1 p.m. ET Monday, Aug. 31.
