2021 College Football Bowl Games Feature Multiple State Rivalries

• The Florida Gators have (-110) odds to cover 7.5 points against the UCF Knights in the Gasparilla Bowl.

TAMPA, Fla. – Two Florida teams will be playing in their home state in the Gasparilla Bowl while the UNC Tar Heels get a slight home-field advantage against the South Carolina Gamecocks in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.

Florida Gators Vs. UCF Knight: Gasparilla Bowl

The Florida Gators and UCF Knights will take part in the Gasparilla Bowl at Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In the third meeting between the two in-state opponents, legal sports betting sites favor the Gators by over a touchdown.

Florida won both of the previous games against UCF, winning 58-27 in 1999 as well as 42-0 in 2006. If history is any indication, this could be a blowout in favor of the Gators.

North Carolina Tar Heels Vs. South Carolina Gamecocks: Mayo Bowl

The North Carolina Tar Heels and South Carolina Gamecocks were once conference rivals who played every season.

Now, the two meet only every couple of years.

The Duke’s Mayo Bowl in Charlotte brings the 59th meeting between the two rivals. Those betting on college football will find the Tar Heels as sizable favorites.

North Carolina leads the all-time series 35-19-4 but has only won once in the last four meetings and two of the last eight overall. They’re in a good spot to extend their lead in the rivalry as their ninth-ranked offense (479.6 ypg) should be able to lead the team to a win against the Gamecocks who are scoring just 16.3 points per game in their last three outings.
