WASHINGTON – Bet365 switched on its Washington, D.C., sportsbook Tuesday and now counts 19 U.S. jurisdictions. The launch came packaged with a sponsorship of the Washington Capitals, Wizards and Mystics that runs for multiple years through the teams’ parent, Monumental Sports & Entertainment.
Second Launch In 12 Days
Twelve days separate the D.C. debut from the company’s West Virginia opening on Aug. 27, which by bet365’s own count filled out state No. 18. The district is jurisdiction No. 19.
The pace is recent. Launch announcements since mid-2025 cover Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Michigan and West Virginia, with the capital the sixth addition in that span. Bet365 entered the U.S. in New Jersey in 2019 and spent its first years expanding slowly before the current run.
The D.C. launch covers sports betting only. The district has not legalized online casino play; bet365 runs its casino product in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia.
Partner Of Capitals, Wizards And Mystics
All three Monumental Sports & Entertainment teams sit inside the sponsorship. Capitals games will carry the book’s logo on virtual boards, the three telecasts get its commercials, and branding runs at both Capital One Arena and the Mystics’ CareFirst Arena. The deal also hands bet365 presenting sponsorship of Monumental Game Center, the Monumental Sports Network feature that overlays live odds on a stream for viewers who opt in.
The deal gives bet365 a year-round broadcast presence in the market it just entered, with NHL, NBA and WNBA inventory under one agreement rather than three.
Seventh App In A Market Opened In 2024
One districtwide mobile app, the lottery-run book, was all the district offered until 2024, with arena-based operators limited to bettors within blocks of their venues. The DC Council approved a budget opening the market in June 2024, and commercial operators began entering that July.
That history makes bet365 the seventh districtwide mobile option in the Washington DC sports betting market; FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, Fanatics Sportsbook and theScore Bet got there first. The district lets bettors on at 18, three years younger than the floor in most states with legal sports betting.
New customers who stake $10 collect $50 in bonus bets. Qualifying tickets can also cash before the final horn under Early Payout, which grades a bet won at a 20-point NBA lead, an 18-point WNBA lead or a three-goal NHL edge no matter what happens after.
The NFL season kicks off this week, bet365’s first football season in the capital and the district’s third with a full commercial market.
