Betclic has been announced as the official sports betting partner for France's professional soccer leagues, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2.

  • The LFP has signed a deal with Betclic making them the official sports betting platform going into the upcoming campaign.
  • The agreement will help younger fans interact with the newly titled Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT.
  • The next season for both leagues will be starting August 23.

PARIS, France – France Professional Football League has partnered with international online sportsbook Betclic as the official sports wagering platform for the first and second-tier leagues.

The three-year deal will offer a chance to engage with a new and younger audience around the age of 18 to 35. The social networking and online aspects will allow fans to connect digitally to Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT.

“We are very pleased to welcome Betclic as a partner of Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT,” said  Didier Quillot, Executive Director of LFP. “The arrival of this new partner demonstrates the attractiveness of our two leagues. Working alongside Betclic, a modern and strong company for young people, we have found the best partner to support us in expanding and engaging our fanbase digitally.”

Betclic is not the only company beginning an LFP sponsorship this upcoming season. Starting next season, Uber Eats will be Ligue 1’s title sponsor and BKT as the title sponsor for Ligue 2. The brand-new logos for each league were presented to the public last month.

The CEO and Founder of Betclic explained how this agreement with the two leagues will be very beneficial not only for his company but also for the legal sports bettors and fans of French soccer.

“These 2 leagues are very well supported by our players, Ligue 1 Uber Eats being in particular the most wagered competition on Betclic,” said Nicolas Béraud.“The offer that we are going to deploy as part of this partnership will allow all French football fans to experience their passion for the sport even more intensely.”

Last season was canceled by the French government in April due to the Coronavirus pandemic but the 2020-2021 LFP campaign is set to start on August 23 at the latest. Soccer betting enthusiasts in France and global viewers of the league will likely see more of Betclic in the future.
