EDMONTON, Canada – BetMGM has expanded their horizons into the Great White North, Canada, with a partnership deal making Connor McDavid their brand ambassador. McDavid is not only the captain of the Edmonton Oilers, but also the reigning MVP of the NHL.
With this deal, McDavid becomes the first active professional athlete amongst all four of the major sports leagues to become a brand ambassador of a legal sports betting site. With that, McDavid will be used in different marketing tactics, promotions, and in person events.
While BetMGM is not yet available in Canada, it is expected that they will be soon later on in April of 2022 so this deal with McDavid is already bringing hype around Canadian sports betting.
“I am very excited to partner with BetMGM as they continue to shape the future of sports betting. It’s also a real honor to be on the same BetMGM team with star athletes like Wayne Gretzky and Kevin Garnett, both of whom I admire very much,” said McDavid.
“The accomplishments that Connor has already earned on the ice is astonishing and we are excited to welcome him to the BetMGM family. We look forward to working together to engage BetMGM players across North America,” continues Matt Prevost, Chief Revenue Officer of BetMGM.
