Betting On How The NBA Could Look Before The 2021 Season

LAS VEGAS – The NBA landscape could look quite different by the time the 2021 season tips off. Currently, the league doesn’t have a set date for the start of the season following the extended 2020 season that just ended in October.

Regardless of when officials decide to start the season, the offseason action is sure to be captivating once again.

Many players will be suiting up for new teams next year, with certain big names earning their own betting odds via the legal sportsbooks.

Starting off with one of the best point guards to ever play the game, Chris Paul.

Many doubted CP3’s motivation entering last season after being traded from the Houston Rockets to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a trade involving Russell Westbrook.

Instead of asking for a trade as many expected, Paul grinded out the season in OKC and led them to the playoffs while having one of the best statistical seasons of his lengthy career.

At the age of 35, Paul likely won’t be sticking around for the rebuild in OKC, with NBA oddsmakers hinting at a possible move to the champion Los Angeles Lakers.

After joining the Portland Trail Blazers in the middle of the season, Carmelo Anthony experienced a bit of a renaissance in 2020.

Anthony was able to play solid minutes for the Blazers in the season and the playoffs but could opt for a ring-chasing opportunity with the Lakers for 2021.

Next on the list is forward Gordon Hayward, who was able to return from injury for the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals this year. Hayward was integral to the Celtic’s small-ball lineup due to his defense but could be headed elsewhere.

Current odds have him possibly joining the Indiana Pacers or the Atlanta Hawks, if not staying in Boston.

Big man Andre Drummond is a high-value target this offseason. Drummond was a force of nature in his time with the Detroit Pistons but was sent to the Cleveland Cavaliers during the season.

Drummond could be a huge addition for a team like the Celtics, who are in desperate need of a true center.

The NBA’s reigning Most Improved Player is likely to stay with the New Orleans Pelicans as they build around Zion Williamson under new head coach Stan Van Gundy.

Brandon Ingram is a free agent this offseason and could elect to head to a team where he can be the unquestioned No. 1 option, like the Hawks or Knicks.

DeMar DeRozan had a successful 2020 season with the San Antonio Spurs and is likely to return for Greg Popovich in 2021.

The Spurs allow DeRozan to play his mid-range game, but DeMar could look to return a part of the country he is more familiar with – like Detroit.
