The Carousel Group is setting up to open a sportsbook in Colorado

  • Johnny Nolon’s Casino will partner with The Carousel Group to operate a new sportsbook.
  • The partnership will feature both mobile and retail sports betting.
  • The company also expressed plans to venture into New Jersey as well.

CRIPPLE CREEK, Colo. – The Colorado Division of Gaming gave the Carousel Group approval for a sports betting license, granting them the ability to operate a sportsbook in Colorado.

Colorado sports betting only recently launched in the last two weeks. Thanks to that, there are not many legal sports betting options in the state. But with the Carousel Group now gaining license approval, the state is one step away from having another sportsbook available.

Although there is a global pandemic happening that has halted sports betting, the Carousel Group wanted to continue forward.

“Despite the ongoing and tragic global crisis, we couldn’t be more confident and optimistic about the sports industry and we’re very excited to be bringing our flagship brand to the American market,” said Daniel Graetzer, Carousel Group CEO. “While other entities have closed their doors and laid off employees, we’re hiring staff and expanding our operations into the United States.”

The Carousel Group will provide the sportsbook technology to Johnny Nolon’s Casino. Johnny Nolon’s has been around since 1991 and they are jumping at the opportunity to offer sports betting for the first time in their history.

The Carousel Group will not only provide Johnny Nolon’s with a retail sportsbook, but they will also provide a mobile and online sports betting platform. That gives the opportunity for both companies to capitalize on a larger number of sports bettors in Colorado.

Partnering with Johnny Nolon’s is only the beginning for the Carousel Group. If everything goes well, the company plans on expanding to other states, such as New Jersey. That will allow the group to provide sports betting to more states and become nationally recognized. But it is yet to be seen whether or not they will expand during the coronavirus pandemic.

It is also yet to be seen what kind of sports betting menu the Carousel Group will offer during this pandemic.
