NEW YORKFanDuel and Mountain Dew have announced that they have teamed up to bring fans an NBA playoffs contest series starting on Tuesday.

The official partner of the NBA, Mountain Dew is presenting the NBA Free Play Contest Series that will feature 17 days of contests during the 2020 NBA Playoffs that will offer various prizes and experiences. It’s a special form of NBA betting that is simpler and more accessible than that found in sportsbooks.

Some of the prizes that will be given away will include a seat at a virtual event with NBA legends, NBA Store credit, merchandise, and FanDuel vouchers.

“After partnering with MTN DEW for NBA All-Star Weekend this past February, we’re incredibly excited they’re our first NBA sponsor back as we celebrate the return of sports,” said Alyssa Zeleznik, VP of Advertising & Sponsorship Sales, FanDuel. “We are two brands that share the belief that sports fans deserve once-in-a-lifetime experiences. While we can’t send fans to the NBA Finals, we want to recognize basketball’s return by offering fans the chance to win unique prizes during the playoffs.”

Along with the prizes that will be offered, FanDuel and Mountain Dew will provide fans a chance to play in a 3-Point bonus series “King of the Mountain” during the days of the contests.

In the 3-point bonus contest, players will be trying to get the lineup with the most 3-pointers every night to be crowned “king”. Whichever players’ lineup has the most 3-pointers by the end of the 17 contests will be the grand prize winner and will split the bonus pool of $15,000.

This is a unique form of legal sports betting that can span across the country because it is pool-based and not against a “house.”

“Our partnership with FanDuel is exciting because it allows us to bring something interactive and exciting to our fans while amplifying the game viewing experience. The contest celebrates the most exhilarating time of the season with prizes and gear,” said Erin Chin, Senior Director, Marketing, of Mountain Dew.

The two companies began this partnership with NBA All-star 2020 and now can bring this new and unique experiences to the playoffs. Players can sign up for the contest with a FanDuel account or a Facebook account on the FanDuel website until September 4.
