Maxfield

  • Maxfield has dropped out of the Kentucky Derby as he fractured his leg during a workout.
  • Maxfield was also forced out of the Belmont Stakes.
  • Maxfield had +6600 odds to win the Triple Crown before getting injured.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Triple Crown and Kentucky Derby odds have been shaken up as Maxfield has dropped out due to a fracture in his right leg.

Maxfield had +6600 odds to win the Triple Crown along with +1000 odds to win the Belmont Stakes.

This is tough news for bettors who were looking to take advantage of the longshot situation for Maxfield’s Triple Crown odds as he was in fourth on both the Belmont odds board and the Triple Crown odds board.

Before dropping out, Maxfield’s won all three races that he had been in throughout his career.

Now that he is no longer a participant in any Triple Crown race, legal sports betting sites have shifted their odds accordingly for the upcoming Belmont Stakes.

Tiz The Law is still remaining as the favorite with +100 odds but now that Maxfields +1000 odds are out, this allowed for Dr Post to move up from +1400 to +800.

As the Belmont Stakes are prepared to go on next week on June 20, bettors can still take advantage of a long shot odds situation with Dr Post or play it safe with Tiz The Law.
