Oregon's online sportsbook, Scoreboard, is set to launch on October 7.

  • Oregon was one of the four states grandfathered into PASPA.
  • Oregon currently has one retail sportsbook in Chinook Winds Casino Resort.
  • Through the app, college betting is not allowed.

SALEM, Ore. – After many delays, Oregon online sports wagering has a release date and will launch on October 7.

John Canzano from the Oregonian first revealed this information on Twitter. The app itself is ready, but the financial end needs approval. Once the Oregon Lottery gets approval, the sports betting app will go live.

The Oregon Lottery is calling their online and mobile wagering app “Scoreboard”. Powered by SBTech, the app will allow bettors within the state to wager on professional games.

“Once the game is launched, the list of professional sports players will have access to includes the NFL, NBA, Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer, PGA, even NASCAR,” said Chuck Baumann, spokesman for the Oregon Lottery.

The main focus for the Scoreboard app will be professional sports. At the moment, college betting is going to be completely left out of this app. This means no wagering on college football or potentially the NCAA Basketball Tournament.

The only location you can bet on college sports in Oregon is at the Chinook Winds Casino Resort in Lincoln City. This is a tribal casino and they are currently running the only retail sportsbook offering legal sports betting on college games.

The main issue with the tribal casino is they do not offer a mobile sports wagering app. The only way to bet on college sports in Oregon is by going to the Chinook Winds Sportsbook. Not everyone in the state lives near Lincoln City. Scoreboard will allow sports bettors from all over the state to enjoy Oregon sports betting.

Registering for the Scoreboard mobile betting app will be easy enough. Some states with mobile sports betting require bettors to register for an online account at a retail location. In Oregon, players can sign up for the online sportsbook remotely. That means once Scoreboard goes live, everyone in the state of Oregon can sign up for the online sportsbook.

Although they did not launch during the first week of the NFL season, the app is almost ready for launch. The Oregon Lottery will be able to take advantage of the rest of the NFL season with this app. Betting on the NFL is very popular, so the state will generate a lot of revenue through Scoreboard. NFL fans all over Oregon can place their bets on October 7.
