CRIPPLE CREEK, Colo. –  In an early jump to the potential legal sports betting industry in Colorado, PointsBet has announced a partnership with Double Eagle Hotel and Casino to provide both their retail and mobile sportsbook products.

“PointsBet is proud to partner with Double Eagle Hotel and Casino in the midst of Colorado’s efforts to legalize sports betting,” commented Johnny Aitken, PointsBet USA’s Chief Executive Officer.

Colorado voters will have a chance to approve sports betting on the upcoming November ballot thanks to CO Governor Jared Polis’s approval of CO HB 1327.

If passed by voters, sportsbooks will be able to open in any of the casinos located in Cripple Creek, Black Hawk, and Central City. The casinos that are granted a license by the Colorado Division of Gaming will also be able to launch state-wide mobile sports wagering apps in Colorado.

“Colorado is a strong and intelligent market hungry for a premium sportsbook and betting experience, and we’re looking forward to introducing new clients to a truly innovative, customer-first experience from start-to-finish,” said Aitken.

PointsBet is no stranger when it comes to the legal sports betting market in the U.S. The company is currently operating an online sportsbook in New Jersey and has signed deals with casinos in both Iowa and Illinois.

PointsBet is also no stranger to offering its users exclusive deals such as the $10,000 gameday guarantee for all the NHL and NBA playoff games this past season. This deal also extends to the current MLB season and for the upcoming NFL season.

“We’ve kept a pulse on the excitement of sports betting in Colorado and are confident that PointsBet is the ideal partner to enhance our customer’s and guests’ sports betting experience,” said Michael Smith, President and CEO of Double Eagle Hotel and Casino.

“We’re looking forward to driving additional tourism to the beautiful city of Cripple Creek by attracting a wider audience of sports betting enthusiasts.”

If passed, tax revenue generated from sports betting in Colorado will be used to fund the Colorado Water Plan.
