Presque Isle Downs Launches Online Sportsbook, Without A Mobile App

• The soft launch for BetAmerica lasts until Wednesday.
• There is no official mobile app launching with BetAmerica.
• This will be the eighth online sportsbook that launches in Pennsylvania.

ERIE, Pa. – BetAmerica’s online sportsbook under the Presque Isle Downs and Casino license is currently undergoing its soft launch in Pennsylvania. The trial period began on Monday afternoon and will last until Wednesday.

Major Component Missing

Pennsylvania sports betting regulations allow mobile and online sports betting to occur within the state. Mobile and online sports wagering are available statewide which allows a wider audience to bet on sports.

The revenue reports in Pennsylvania show that their method is working, as mobile betting has continued to drastically increase since its inception. Although that is the case, BetAmerica is missing a major component right now. The online BetAmerica Sportsbook will not launch with a mobile app.

In fact, BetAmerica will be the first online sportsbook in Pennsylvania that launches without a mobile app. Although the company plans on launching mobile wagering apps in the future, it is unknown when that will happen.

Mobile users can still use BetAmerica on their mobile devices, but they will have to run the platform through their device’s browser.

Online wagering is not the only way that bettors can use bet on sports at Presque Isle. The BetAmerica Sportsbook is also available in person at the casino. This was done in partnership thanks to the creators of BetAmerica, Churchill Downs Incorporated.

This is the same Churchill Downs that houses the Kentucky Derby every year. Churchill Downs Incorporated first launched the BetAmerica Sportsbook in New Jersey early in 2019. Since then, BetAmerica has appeared in other states that have legal sports betting.

For now, the soft launch for the BetAmerica Online Sportsbook will continue until Wednesday. After the testing phase is over, the online sportsbook will be live all day, every day. The full launch for the online version of the BetAmerica Sportsbook will likely happen later in the week.
