PITTSBURGH – The third and final week of the NFL Preseason is set to kick off with a matchup between the Carolina Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh is going into this one favored by less than a touchdown.

Ahead of Thursday Night’s game, legal sports betting sites are leaning on the Steelers with a 4-point spread. This is a great opportunity for bettors to take Pittsburgh at a discount, given the circumstances on both sides.

Take The Discounted Spread On Pittsburgh

The Steelers have shown out in the preseason to this point, going 1-1 record and having scored 45 points combined through both games. They’ve done so mostly behind Skylar Thompson under center, who is third in preseason passing yards with 346. He has thrown three touchdowns and one interception as well.

On the Carolina side, they recently signed UFL standout QB, Bryce Perkins, who is expected to see a decent chunk of playing time in what is his audition for the NFL. He had a brief stint with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022, where he started one game, going 13/26 for 100 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions.

While he’s impressed during the UFL season at 1,342 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions, his lack of NFL experience is concerning. Especially being that he struggled in his lone NFL start.

Given that Thompson has played in 10 games and started five of them, we’re rolling with the Steelers NFL betting odds here to cover the spread.
