- The Los Angeles Lakers are favored by 12 points over the Houston Rockets Sunday night.
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Lakers host the Houston Rockets Sunday night in the Staples Center on a Sunday DFS slate with only four games.
This game will serve as the “late-night hammer” for DFS players and should be heavily targeted.
Lakers superstar LeBron James is listed as questionable for tonight’s game vs the Houston Rockets. Although LeBron has been quoted saying that his ankle feels “much better,” it might be worth letting the star sit out in a game against the hapless Houston Rockets.
The Lakers are 12-point favorites at online sportsbooks and the Rockets only win on the season has come against the Oklahoma City Thunder, giving LeBron more reason to sit out.
Lakers DFS Value
If LeBron James were to miss this game, several Los Angeles Lakers would become building blocks on DraftKings. Unfortunately, this game tips at 10:30 p.m. EST so DFS players will probably not know if LeBron is in or out prior to lock time at 7 p.m.
This situation gives players a unique opportunity to utilize the late swap feature on DraftKings. Players may want to consider fading the two early games, in order to leave their lineups with more flexibility to adjust for LeBron news.
Anthony Davis – $9600
Davis would be tasked with being the primary scoring option for the Lakers. Davis would be too cheap for this role, as he was a routing 10k player in New Orleans when he was in this role.
Davis is averaging 50 DK points per game this season, and a matchup with a soft Houston frontcourt would only help improve those numbers.
Davis at $9600, offers a severe discount off of Giannis Anetokounmpo at $11,000.
Russell Westbrook- $9,700
Similar to Anthony Davis, Westbrook would have to run the show if LeBron were to miss this game.
At $9,700 Westbrook brings unique triple-double upside which will hold a lot of value on a short four-game slate. Westbrook is sandwiched in between James Harden at $9,900 and Damian Lillard at $9,400 which should keep his ownership in check.
Malik Monk- $3,700
Monk will be a staple in all NBA lineups if LeBron is announced out before lock.
At $3,700 Monk would be the best value on the entire slate, and will slide into the starting five. DFS players may want to keep their guard spots open on DraftKings so they have the flexibility to pivot to Monk if LeBron James news is still unknown before lock.
