- LeBron James is heavily favored to return to the Lakers (-2000), followed by the Cavaliers at +500
- Austin Reaves has no shorter than +1200 odds to be traded to any particular team
LOS ANGELES – Though the NBA Playoffs continue to roll along, many teams and players have already shifted their focus to next season. Some of the biggest questions that remain to be answered revolve around where certain star players will play next year.
LeBron James 2025 Team Odds
- Los Angeles Lakers -2000
- Cleveland Cavaliers +500
- Minnesota Timberwolves +800
- Golden State Warriors +1000
- Los Angeles Clippers +1200
- New York Knicks +1200
LeBron James will enter his 23rd season in the NBA at 40 years old, and Legal sports betting sites expect him to remain with the Lakers at least for next season.
However, it is reasonable to consider the possibility of James wanting to contend and to question the quality of the Lakers’ roster.
The Cavaliers at +500 odds would make sense as a destination for LeBron. He has already done two stints there and as currently constructed, arguably has the best roster that the franchise has ever had that didn’t include James himself.
Golden State is another team to watch out for, though oddsmakers view it as a long shot at +1000 odds.
It’s hard to imagine that the idea of playing with Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green isn’t attractive to an aging James. One last title run for an aging core to bring an official end to the Golden State dynasty.
Austin Reaves 2025 Team Odds
- Los Angeles Lakers -1400
- New York Knicks +1200
- Miami Heat +1200
- Los Angeles Clippers +1200
- Milwaukee Bucks +1600
- Golden State Warriors +1600
Austin Reaves has been a point of contention amongst many NBA fans and talking heads as to what the Lakers should do with him.
Many believe that he is a key piece of their rotation and shouldn’t be moved while others argue that his upside is limited and his trade value is too good to pass up.
Legal NBA betting sites believe that Reaves will also remain with the Lakers, giving him -1400 odds to stay in LA next season. The reason for the odds being so short is because there isn’t a clear destination for him to be traded to.
The next highest teams are the Knicks, Heat, and Clippers at +1200 odds, meaning even the oddsmakers have little clarity on the situation.
It feels more likely than not that Reaves will be moved due to the multitude of glaring weaknesses in the Lakers’ roster, particularly the lack of rim protection.
Milwaukee could be a possibility at +1600, especially if Giannis Antetokounmpo decides to leave. Reaves would immediately become the centerpiece of their franchise (aside from Damian Lillard) and the Lakers could be in the mix for Brook Lopez.
