Why Calgary, British Columbia Are Great Picks For Week 7
  • The Calgary Stampeders are three and a half point road dogs in Week 7. They defeated the Roughriders as five point road dogs last week.
  • The British Columbia Lions have the best offense and defense on a yards per game basis. They are one point favorites over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

WINNIPEG – Week 7 of the CFL kicks off this weekend and the landscape of the league has seen some major shifts over the past few weeks.

We could be in store more for changes to the standings following this week, starting with the game between the Calgary Stampeders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Stampeders vs Blue Bombers Game Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Stampeders +3.5 (-115) +170 O 50.0 (-115)
Blue Bombers -3.5 (-105) -200 U 50.0 (-115)

Legal sports betting sites list the Blue Bombers as three and a half point favorites against the Stampeders on Friday.

Calgary has gone 4-1 to this point while Winnipeg sits at 3-1. They played in Calgary on July 3rd, ending in a commanding 37-16 win for the Stampeders.

These teams feature the two best rushing offenses in yards per game, Calgary posting 130.6 rushing yards per game and Winnipeg not far behind at 118.2.

After losing to the Ottawa Redbacks in Week 3, the Stampeders have won their two previous games by 17.5 points per game. They have also gone 2-0 on the road this season, winning both of those games by double digits.

Winnipeg started off 3-0 before losing to Calgary and now prepares to face them for the second consecutive time after their bye. They’ve gone 2-0 at home thus far.

So what gives? The best bet is to go with the team coming off two big wins and the leading rushing attack in the league to get this one done. Pick the Stampeders to win outright.

Roughriders vs Lions Game Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Roughriders +1.0 (-110) EVEN O 52.5 (-110)
Lions -1.0 (-110) -120 U 52.5 (-110)

The British Columbia Lions are slight home favorites over the Saskatchewan Roughriders at CFL betting sites in Week 7.

Saskatchewan sat firmly atop the standings at 4-0 before losing to Calgary last week. The Lions now sit at 3-3 after defeating the Edmonton Elks 32-14 on the road.

Interestingly, the Lions own the best offense and defense on a yards per game basis, but have gone just 3-3 due to their league worst scoring offense at 22.7 points per game.

The Roughriders have the second best scoring offense, averaging 29.0 points per game as well as the third most total yards per game. However, they allow the second most yards per game of any team in the league, nearly 100 more yards per game than BC.

Add to this the fact that the Lions have won their last two games, in which they scored 21 and 32 points while Saskatchewan lost their previous game and could only put up 10, and you have a recipe for a British Columbia win.

Bet on the Lions to cover the one point spread for better odds.
